Last time there was a spot of tumultuous weather down here in Rhosneigr, and no doubt all across the island, it was an absolutely fierce period of stormy winds, heavy rain and dark skies that battered our fair shores. It was incredible to watch from the window of our property, giving us the full experience of a bed and breakfast in Anglesey come winter-time, but not so fun to be stuck outside in!

We took a walk when everything had cleared up, heading out to our favourite stretches of beach nearby. It was amazing to see the sheer number of rocks and pieces of driftwood that had come ashore during the storm, with each wild wave unsettling and dragging some very interesting artifacts onto the sand.

There was an endless variety of objects to be found on the beach, and we loved combing through them all for some very interesting finds. It was like a debris field of various aquatic objects, from shells and seaweed all the way to pieces of smooth sea glass that told a tale of many years underwater.

Don’t worry, we left them all there for you to come and find for yourself as well!

Looks like we’ll be having some absolutely spectacular weather in the week to come, so you can bet that we’ll be outside to take full of advantage of it. We’re planning on knocking up a large planter for what will be a rather sizeable and extremely green hedge all year round. You can bet that we’ll keep you updated, so watch this space!

Glanllyn Bach is a soon-to-be-opened luxury bed and breakfast in Anglesey, sitting just outside of the scenic seaside village of Rhosneigr. If you have any questions about what we plan to offer when we’re open, or regarding anything else, don’t hesitate to pick up the phone or drop us an email as soon as you can. We’d love to hear from you!
